Profile
XTEND is an Israeli-American defense technology company founded in 2018 that develops AI-powered robotic platforms and autonomous systems for high-risk mission-critical operations. The company’s central innovation is XOS, its unified, hardware-agnostic operating system that enables advanced human-machine teaming. XOS allows a single operator to supervise and control multiple unmanned platforms with a progressive shift from direct teleoperation to supervised autonomy, while keeping final decision-making and rules-of-engagement authority with the human operator. The system is specifically engineered for GPS-denied, communications-challenged, and harsh environments.
XTEND focuses on practical autonomy rather than full independence, combining real-time AI with human oversight. Its platforms are modular and open-architecture, supporting both proprietary and third-party hardware, sensors, and payloads. This design has allowed the company to deploy over 10,000 systems across more than 30 countries, including multiple active combat zones.
The company’s product lineup consists of tactical unmanned aerial and ground systems built for defense, law enforcement, intelligence, critical infrastructure protection, and private security. Key platforms include:
- XTENDER — A durable, cage-protected drone optimized for close-quarters combat and indoor operations.
- MICRO — An ultra-light, hand-launched drone for rapid ISR in confined or GPS-denied spaces.
- Scorpio 500 and Scorpio 1000 — Precision strike and reconnaissance drones capable of mesh networking (up to three units) and modular payloads for strike, ISR, and effects.
- Wolverine — A multi-mission FPV drone equipped with a robotic arm for tasks like counter-IED work.
- Rover and other UGVs — Ground platforms for inspection, logistics, and heavy payload transport.
- Nest — An autonomous docking and battery-swapping station for persistent operations.
All platforms emphasize rapid deployment, interchangeable payloads, encrypted communications, and real-time adaptation. Several models feature fiber-optic data links for secure beyond-line-of-sight performance in contested environments.
XTEND has grown through major U.S. defense contracts and is expanding its North American footprint with a new headquarters and drone manufacturing facility in Tampa, Florida. The company is also pursuing a public listing through a business combination with JFB Construction Holdings.
