Profile
United Robotics Group is a European service robotics company specializing in collaborative robots (often called CobiotX) designed to work alongside humans in commercial and industrial environments. Founded in 2021 by CEO Wassim Saeidi and headquartered in Germany, United Robotics Group has built an ecosystem that unites hardware, software, and integration expertise to address pressing challenges such as labor shortages, aging populations, and the need for safer, more efficient workplaces. The company focuses on “robots for humans,” automating repetitive or hazardous tasks so people can concentrate on higher-value, creative, or customer-facing work. With operations and partners across Europe and the Americas, United Robotics Group emphasizes safety, data privacy, sustainability, and ease of use, offering solutions through direct sales, integrators, and Robot-as-a-Service models.
While United Robotics Group has roots in broader social and industrial robotics (including past acquisitions like Robotnik), its current core focus is life science and laboratory automation. Labs face critical issues including staff burnout, skill shortages (projected at hundreds of thousands globally), and exposure risks. United Robotics Group’s modular CobiotX portfolio targets these problems by delivering 24/7 autonomous operation, seamless integration with existing equipment and software, and designs that require no robotics expertise from end users.
United Robotics Group’s robot-based products include:
- uMe: The company’s humanoid robot platform, engineered for versatile service tasks in environments where human-like interaction or dexterity is valuable.
- uLab Mobile (also called uMobileLab): A mobile autonomous robot that handles samples and materials intelligently. It features configurable skill sets, autonomous task prioritization, and compatibility with standard lab peripherals via MQTT and other APIs. It streamlines workflows in medical, pharma, and biotech labs while integrating with lab information systems.
- Kevin (uLab Kevin): A specialized laboratory robot acquired and enhanced from Fraunhofer IPA technology. Kevin is optimized for SBS-format labware and plate handling. It offers plug-and-play setup for lab personnel, operates in narrow, dynamic spaces with precise 3D perception sensors (even in dark conditions), and remains software-agnostic (supporting SILA 2, OPC UA, REST). It enables safe, repeatable handoffs around the clock without fatigue risks.
- Additional cleaning-focused robots such as uClean Compact and uClean Vacuum 40, plus The Box (developed in partnership with Siemens Healthineers), which automates sample sorting and documentation for small-to-mid-sized labs with easy switching between manual and autonomous modes.
These systems prioritize European-sourced components, repairability, recyclability, and compliance with GDPR and strict safety standards. United Robotics Group provides full lifecycle support, including scoping, customization, installation, validation, and training, enabling labs to maximize throughput while reducing injuries and staff strain.
Beyond labs, United Robotics Group’s broader vision covers hospitality, healthcare, and intralogistics, but its life-science advancements currently drive much of its innovation and visibility through events like SLAS and CES.
