Profile
Rocket Lab is a global end-to-end space company that provides launch services, spacecraft design and manufacturing, satellite components, and on-orbit solutions. Founded in 2006, Rocket Lab has grown from a small-launch pioneer into a vertically integrated space systems provider serving commercial, civil, defense, and national security customers. The company operates Electron, the world’s most frequently launched small orbital rocket, and is developing Neutron, a medium-lift reusable vehicle. It also produces the Photon spacecraft family, advanced space solar cells, flight software, reaction wheels, star trackers, separation systems, and composite structures.
A key recent development is Rocket Lab’s acquisition of Motiv Space Systems, now operating as Rocket Lab Robotics. This adds proven space robotics technology, including multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms, actuators, and precision motion control systems that have flown on NASA’s Perseverance rover and CADRE lunar rovers. The robotics division supplies solar array drive assemblies, gimbals, filter wheels, and other mechanisms critical for satellites and planetary missions. These capabilities support future lunar and Mars exploration, sample collection, instrument deployment, and national security programs while helping Rocket Lab vertically integrate high-value spacecraft components.
Rocket Lab’s systems have enabled more than 1,700 missions worldwide and launched hundreds of satellites. The company maintains major facilities in Long Beach, California; Mahia, New Zealand; Wallops Island, Virginia; and multiple U.S. and international sites. It continues rapid growth through responsive launch capability, constellation-scale manufacturing, and now advanced space robotics.
