Profile
Nomadium Robotics is a Bulgarian aerial robotics startup founded in 2023 and based in Sofia. The company develops long-endurance vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones for large-scale mapping, infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Its flagship product, the TerraHawk, is a compact blended-wing VTOL UAV with a 2-meter wingspan, 4 kg all-up weight, and industry-leading flight performance: over 3 hours of endurance, 180 km range, top speed of 60 km/h, and the ability to map up to 10 km² in a single flight.
The TerraHawk supports modular payloads up to 1 kg, including the proprietary “Spotlight” AI system (dual optical/IR gimbal with onboard AI compute for autonomous object recognition and tracking), high-resolution mapping cameras (ADTi 24 MP, Sony LR1 61 MP, multispectral sensors), and custom third-party hardware. These capabilities enable diverse applications such as power line and solar park inspections, wildfire detection, river flood monitoring, search-and-rescue operations, border security, precision agriculture, and large-area land surveying with RTK/PPK support.
The drone features multi-redundant systems (triple IMUs, emergency parachute), 4G cellular plus satellite connectivity, collision prevention, IP54 weather resistance, and waypoint-based autonomy via the SkyHub cloud platform. Two main configurations are offered: the €6,000 Developer Kit (available immediately for R&D and exempt operations) and the €9,000 TerraHawk Pro (C2/C6 certification expected Q3 2026). An optional flight insurance plan and tactical RC tablet complete the offering.
Nomadium Robotics emphasizes affordability through in-house additive manufacturing with advanced filaments, allowing the company to deliver a capable long-range platform at a fraction of traditional fixed-wing drone costs. The all-Bulgarian team (Founder/CEO George Petrov, Head of Operations Petar Gerdzhikov, and specialists in autonomy, mechanical engineering, and software) met during an entrepreneurs’ event in Sofia and recently secured funding from the Scion Accelerator powered by Rezolv Energy.
