Profile
LG (LG Electronics Robotics) is a global technology leader and part of the South Korean LG Group, offering a wide range of consumer and business solutions. Through its Business Solutions division, LG has expanded into robotics with the CLOi (short for “CLOse Intelligence”) platform, focusing on autonomous service robots designed to enhance operational efficiency, customer service, and labor support in commercial environments.
LG’s primary robot-based product on the US business site is the CLOi ServeBot (models like LDLTR30, LDLIM21, and others). This autonomous delivery and serving robot is built for hospitality, restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, and similar venues. It features multiple shelves (typically three, each holding up to 22 lbs / 10 kg, with a total capacity of around 66 lbs), a compact footprint (approx. 20.1 x 20.1 inches), and a height of about 52 inches. Equipped with advanced sensors including LiDAR, 3D cameras, ToF (Time-of-Flight), and bumper sensors, the ServeBot enables precise autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and safe multi-point deliveries.
Key capabilities include smart multi-point serving, cruise mode for repeated routes, an intuitive 9.2-inch touchscreen for easy operation and customization (voice announcements, music, and content), and up to 11 hours of runtime on a single charge. The robot supports fleet deployment without extra communication devices and integrates with cloud monitoring for real-time status updates. Newer variants feature improved suspension for stable transport over uneven surfaces, automatic doors, and larger cargo options. LG positions these robots as solutions to labor shortages, reducing staff workload while improving guest experiences through reliable, contactless service.
LG’s robotics strategy extends beyond the ServeBot. The company invests in a broader CLOi ecosystem, including guide robots, cleaning robots, and home-focused developments like the LG CLOiD home robot showcased at CES 2026 for AI-powered household tasks. LG has also strengthened its portfolio through strategic investments, such as acquiring a majority stake in Bear Robotics to enhance AI-driven autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for hospitality and logistics. These efforts align with LG’s vision of smart, connected environments where robots integrate with IoT platforms like ThinQ for seamless automation.
Overall, LG leverages its expertise in AI, sensors, displays, and manufacturing to deliver practical, UL-certified robotic solutions that prioritize safety, reliability, and ease of integration. The company continues to innovate in service robotics to address real-world business challenges in an era of automation and labor optimization.
