Profile
Enchanted Tools is a Paris-based robotics company founded to create a new generation of people-facing humanoid robots that blend advanced AI with emotional intelligence and charm. The company was established by Jérôme Monceaux, a veteran robotics entrepreneur and former Executive VP of Aldebaran/SoftBank Robotics, who played a key role in the development of the iconic Nao and Pepper robots. Enchanted Tools aims to transform how society interacts with robots — moving beyond purely functional machines to companions that enhance wellbeing, dignity, and human connection, particularly in care, hospitality, retail, and public environments.
The company’s flagship product is the Mirokaï family of humanoid robots (including Miroki and Miroka models). These are designed as social companions rather than industrial tools. They feature expressive faces, fluid movement, advanced AI for natural interaction, and capabilities tailored to real-world human environments. The Mirokaï can engage in conversation, play music, facilitate games, provide reminders, guide visitors, and offer emotional support. They are intentionally “enchanting” — combining utility with wonder to reduce stress, loneliness, and isolation.
Key applications and deployments include:
- Healthcare & Elderly Care: Deployed in nursing homes and hospitals to support hydration reminders, cognitive stimulation, and companionship for residents with cognitive decline. Pilots have shown measurable improvements in engagement and joy for seniors.
- Pediatric Care: At the Institut du Cancer de Montpellier, Miroki accompanies children during radiotherapy to reduce anxiety and loneliness.
- Hospitality & Public Spaces: Tested at Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport as a concierge robot for wayfinding and passenger assistance. Also used in hotels, restaurants, and events for customer service and entertainment.
- Retail & Community Settings: Pilots with Mather Institute explore social connection in community environments.
Enchanted Tools emphasizes a collaborative, open approach. They run a developer program for research labs, innovation centers, and engineering schools to explore interaction, grasping, and mobility. The company has showcased its robots at major events including CES 2025, VivaTech (multiple years), ICRA 2024, NRF, and RoboCup. Their philosophy fuses creativity from animated film experts with industrial robotics expertise to create robots that feel approachable and magical rather than mechanical.
