Profile
Applied Robotics (now operating as Effecto USA) is a well-established American manufacturer of high-quality End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and robotic peripherals. With over 60 years of industry experience, the company specializes in innovative, durable, and reliable automation components that enable industrial robots to perform complex tasks efficiently. Applied Robotics was acquired and rebranded under the Effecto Group (an Italian company), but it continues to operate as Effecto USA with a strong focus on the North American market. The company is known for balancing standardization with customization, offering excellent lead times and technical support.
Applied Robotics does not build complete robots. Instead, it provides critical robotic tooling and accessories that serve as the “hands” of industrial robots, making automation more flexible, productive, and cost-effective across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and general industry applications.
Key robot-based products include:
- XCHANGE® Tool Changers: Industry-leading automatic and manual tool changers (including the latest Epsilon series) that allow robots to quickly swap between different end-effectors. They feature a lifetime guarantee on the coupling mechanism and are known for reliability and repeatability.
- QuickSTOP® Collision Sensors: Essential safety devices that detect collisions and protect expensive tools and robots by instantly stopping motion, minimizing downtime and damage.
- Grippers: A wide range of pneumatic, electric, soft, and palletizing grippers designed for various payloads and applications, from delicate parts to heavy material handling.
- Deburring & Finishing Tools: Advanced tools for automated grinding, sanding, polishing, and deburring, providing consistent surface quality with active compliance.
- Compliance Devices & Workholding Systems: Pneumatic and hydraulic vises, indexing chucks, and compliance mechanisms that enhance precision and adaptability.
Effecto / Applied Robotics emphasizes robust engineering, ease of integration with major robot brands (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, etc.), and comprehensive technical support including datasheets, user guides, and 3D models.
