Profile
Aitonomi (formerly TeleRetail AG) is a Swiss-based technology company founded in 2014 that develops fully autonomous electric transport systems for both indoor and outdoor logistics. The company specializes in creating scalable, driverless solutions for material handling and last-mile delivery, with a strong emphasis on reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and eliminating emissions through automation. Aitonomi operates globally through a network of partners and subsidiaries (including TeleRetail GmbH in Germany and TeleRetail Inc. in the USA) and has deployed systems across Europe and beyond.
Aitonomi’s solutions are built around its proprietary Aitonomi AutoPilot software, a sophisticated autonomy stack capable of navigating vehicles with payloads up to 50 tons. The software has been proven in 24/7 industrial operations and supports seamless integration with existing logistics processes, traffic lights, elevators, and warehouse management systems. The company offers both vehicle platforms and software components, enabling full automation of transport tasks in smart cities, industrial sites, resorts, hotels, campuses, and freight operations.
Key robot-based (autonomous) products include:
- Autonomous Semi-Trailer Truck (Sattelzug): A heavy-duty autonomous electric tractor unit with smart trailers for pallet transport. It features automated coupling/uncoupling (in under 5 minutes), automatic pallet recognition, automated load securing, and pantograph charging for continuous 24/7 operation. The system is DEKRA-certified and uses the Aitonomi AutoPilot for navigation.
- Autonomous Delivery Robots: Compact, self-driving delivery vehicles with a 30 kg payload capacity. These are deployed in smart cities, resorts, hotels, campuses, and leisure parks. They can communicate with elevators and navigate fully autonomously.
Aitonomi’s systems combine advanced AI, sensor fusion, and simulation tools to optimize transport processes before deployment. The company works with strong partners such as TK Elevator, Cellnex (5G), and ESA to enhance integration, real-time mapping, and satellite-based intelligence.
