Profile
AutoFlight is a global eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aerospace company focused on developing autonomous electric aircraft for both passenger transport and heavy cargo logistics. Founded in 2017, the company is building what it describes as the future of mass individual aerial transport through shared airborne vehicles, essentially functioning as scalable air taxis and logistics drones. Its core technology revolves around a Lift & Cruise configuration that allows the aircraft to take off and land vertically like a helicopter before transitioning to efficient winged forward flight.
The company’s product lineup spans a wide range of sizes and missions. Its flagship passenger model, the Prosperity, is a 5-seat plus pilot eVTOL with a maximum takeoff weight of 2,400 kg, a cruise speed of 200 km/h, and a typical range of around 200 km. It is designed for urban air mobility and inter-city routes. For cargo, AutoFlight offers the CarryAll, which can carry up to 400 kg of payload with a range of 250 km. The company has also developed specialized variants for firefighting, along with smaller platforms such as the Albatross (100 kg payload) and White Shark (long-endurance drone with up to 500 km range). More recently, AutoFlight unveiled its V5000 Matrix, billed as the world’s first 5-ton class eVTOL. This much larger aircraft is available in both a 10-passenger configuration and a cargo version capable of carrying up to 1,500 kg.
AutoFlight has achieved a long list of technical and operational firsts. These include completing the world’s first inter-city autonomous eVTOL flight (Shenzhen to Zhuhai), conducting the first 2-ton eVTOL tea delivery in China, and performing the first heavy eVTOL operation to an offshore oil platform with a 300+ km round trip. The company secured early overseas type certificate validation in Indonesia for its V2000CG model and has advanced certification efforts with China’s CAAC, Europe’s EASA, and the UAE’s GCAA. It has also demonstrated mixed-fleet formation flights and launched integrated insurance and support packages for operators.
The company maintains a global footprint with R&D and certification operations centered in Augsburg, Germany; manufacturing and composite production in China (including facilities in Kunshan and Jining, Shandong); and test and commercial operations in the United States. It is backed by the European tech holding company Team Global and has raised substantial funding to scale its programs. The aircraft are designed to be all-weather capable with redundant systems for high reliability, and AutoFlight emphasizes quiet operation, accessibility, and zero-emission electric propulsion.
Beyond hardware, AutoFlight promotes broader low-altitude economy infrastructure, including the development of sea-based zero-carbon vertiports that combine marine and aerial transport. The company positions its robotic aerial vehicles as practical tools for cargo delivery, emergency response, and eventually everyday passenger mobility, all while aiming for the high safety standards of traditional commercial aviation. With ongoing certification work and expanding demonstration projects across Asia, Central Asia, and Europe, AutoFlight continues to push the boundaries of large-scale autonomous eVTOL technology.
