Profile
AUVSI (Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International) is the world’s largest nonprofit trade association dedicated to advancing the uncrewed systems, robotics, and autonomous technologies industry. Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, AUVSI represents manufacturers, operators, researchers, and stakeholders across air, ground, and maritime domains. Its mission is to drive innovation, shape supportive policy, and connect the global autonomy ecosystem to solve real-world challenges in defense, public safety, infrastructure, logistics, and beyond.
AUVSI does not develop, manufacture, or sell any robot-based products. Instead, it serves as the central voice and convener for the entire uncrewed systems industry. The organization hosts flagship events such as XPONENTIAL, the world’s largest uncrewed systems trade show, along with sector-specific gatherings including the AUVSI Fall Assembly, XPONENTIAL Europe, and the Drone & AAM Policy Symposium. It offers industry-leading certification programs such as Trusted UGV, Green UAS, Trusted Operator UAS, and Trusted Operator Maritime to promote safety, reliability, and best practices.
AUVSI also produces proprietary research, including the Uncrewed Systems and Robotics Database, federal defense spending reports, and market intelligence tools. Through advocacy initiatives on Capitol Hill and at the state level, the association works to influence legislation and regulations that enable responsible growth of autonomous technologies. Additional activities include webinars, member networking through chapters and the Aville community, and educational resources aimed at accelerating adoption of uncrewed systems across industries.
By fostering collaboration between industry, government, and academia, AUVSI plays a critical role in building the infrastructure, policy framework, and talent pipeline needed for the future of robotics and autonomy.
