STEM Ecosystems is a national network dedicated to advancing high-quality STEM education through community-based collaborations across the United States and a growing number of international partners. Rather than a traditional robotics manufacturer, STEM Ecosystems represents a movement that connects schools, afterschool programs, colleges, businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to create seamless, lifelong STEM learning pathways for students from pre-kindergarten through college (PK-20).
The organization operates as a Community of Practice that currently supports dozens of regional and state-level STEM Ecosystems. These local networks work together to transform how young people experience STEM by aligning formal education with informal learning opportunities, industry partnerships, and workforce development initiatives. The goal is to ensure that every student—regardless of background—has access to engaging, real-world STEM experiences that prepare them for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
STEM Ecosystems emphasizes cross-sector collaboration, aiming to break down silos between educators, industry leaders, and community organizations. Its members focus on increasing equity, building educator capacity, and creating measurable impact. The network reports having reached millions of PK-20 learners, tens of thousands of teachers and informal educators, and thousands of philanthropic, business, and industry partners. Activities include convenings, shared best practices, resource development, and advocacy for systemic change in STEM education.
The organization also maintains an international Community of Practice with partners in countries such as Kenya, Israel, and others. While it does not develop or sell robot-based products itself, many of the local ecosystems promote robotics, coding, and engineering programs as key components of their STEM offerings. The network’s strength lies in its ability to scale effective practices, support policy alignment, and connect communities with resources that expand access to high-quality STEM learning.
