Profile
Simobotics is a Bulgarian robotics company founded in 2021 and headquartered in the small town of Mizia. It specializes in designing and manufacturing autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that combine the capabilities of traditional AGVs, AMRs, autonomous picking robots, and industrial mobile robots into a single versatile platform. Their flagship product, the BALABAN (also referred to as AMHR – Autonomous Multi-Handling Robot), is a modular, slim-profile autonomous robot built on a differential-drive chassis with payload capacities of 500 kg, 1,000 kg, or 1,500 kg.
The robot measures just 1,690 Ă— 635 Ă— 545 mm, allowing it to navigate narrow aisles while carrying a wide range of attachments. Available modules include pallet trucks, stationary and lifting platforms, pick-and-place systems, roller/conveyor beds, and shelf configurations. These enable use cases across automotive, food & beverage, healthcare & pharma, packaging, paper & printing, warehousing, and general manufacturing. Typical tasks include moving finished goods from production lines to storage, supplying raw materials to lines, transferring work-in-progress between stations, flexible sortation, goods-to-person picking, and replacing fixed conveyors.
Key technical highlights include VDA 5050-compliant fleet management, PLd/SIL2 safety certification, LiFePO4 batteries that recharge in 12 minutes for a full 8–12-hour shift, maximum speed of 2 m/s, and advanced multi-level SLAM navigation with ±10 mm / 1° accuracy. The system supports natural-feature navigation, magnetic tape, painted lines, reflectors, and inductive wires. An AI-based pallet recognition system and graphical no-code programming interface with digital twin capabilities make deployment possible in less than a day. The software integrates seamlessly with ERP and WMS systems, and an AI ecosystem hides underlying complexity for shop-floor operators.
Simobotics positions itself as a democratizer of robotics, offering affordable, scalable, and easy-to-program solutions for companies of all sizes. Its compact modular design, fast charging, and safety features make the BALABAN suitable for both greenfield and brownfield facilities seeking flexible automation without extensive infrastructure changes.
