Xiaomi Robotics is the dedicated robotics division of Xiaomi Corporation, one of the world’s largest consumer electronics and smart manufacturing companies. Formally organized under the Xiaomi Robotics Lab around 2020, the division represents a major strategic investment in artificial intelligence, embodied robotics, and seamless integration with Xiaomi’s expansive IoT ecosystem. Operating primarily from Beijing, China, Xiaomi Robotics aims to develop affordable, intelligent robots that coexist with humans in homes, workplaces, and public spaces. The company’s most recognized robot-based products center on two flagship platforms: the CyberDog quadruped and the CyberOne humanoid. The CyberDog 2 is an agile, bio-inspired quadrupedal robot designed as an open development platform for education, research, and creative applications. Featuring 12 degrees of freedom per leg powered by high-torque custom actuators, advanced balance control, and natural gait algorithms, it can run, jump, perform complex maneuvers, and interact with its environment. Equipped with multiple RGB-D cameras, an Intel RealSense depth sensor, NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computing power, microphones, and touch sensors, CyberDog 2 supports voice commands, gesture recognition, facial detection, autonomous navigation, and real-time environmental understanding. Xiaomi has open-sourced significant portions of the software stack, including ROS 2 frameworks, motion control algorithms, and AI perception models, fostering a global developer community that creates custom applications ranging from security patrols to entertainment and STEM education tools.
Complementing the quadruped line is the CyberOne humanoid robot. Standing 177 cm tall and weighing 52 kg, CyberOne features 21 degrees of freedom, sophisticated bipedal locomotion, dual-arm manipulation, and expressive capabilities. It integrates large vision-language models and multimodal AI to recognize emotions, engage in natural conversation, interpret gestures, and perform basic household assistance tasks. The robot demonstrates Xiaomi’s progress in reinforcement learning, whole-body control, and human-robot emotional interaction.
Beyond these advanced platforms, Xiaomi Robotics produces a wide array of practical consumer robots. This includes the popular Mi Robot Vacuum and mop series with LiDAR navigation, AI-based obstacle avoidance, and self-cleaning stations; robotic window cleaners; autonomous lawn mowers; and various educational and companion robots for children and seniors. All products emphasize tight integration with the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem, allowing coordinated behaviors across devices.
Xiaomi Robotics differentiates itself through manufacturing scale, cost efficiency, and ecosystem synergy. By leveraging its massive supply chain and expertise in consumer electronics, the company produces sophisticated robotic hardware at price points far below many Western competitors.
