Profile
Mytra is a San Francisco Bay Area-based robotics and AI company founded in 2022 by former Tesla and Rivian robotics and manufacturing leaders. The company is building a new paradigm in warehouse automation with a radically simplified, software-defined 3D robotics system designed to automate the most common industrial task: moving and storing material. Mytra aims to energize the economy by delivering flexible, scalable, and intuitive automation that dramatically improves warehouse productivity, density, and efficiency while reducing complexity and cost for customers in grocery, retail, and other logistics-heavy industries. The company has raised approximately $200 million in funding and already has commercial partnerships with major players such as Albertsons Companies.
Mytra’s solution is remarkably simple, consisting of only three core components: intelligent bots, a modular matrix storage structure, and edge-intelligent AI software. This minimalist approach eliminates the technical debt, single points of failure, and high deployment costs associated with traditional automation systems like conveyors, elevators, and fixed AS/RS.
Key Robot-Based Products:
- Mytra Bots: High-capacity autonomous robots with a 3,000 lb (1,360 kg) lift capability enabled by a patented Helix Design. The bots move horizontally on wheels and climb vertically within the matrix structure, enabling true 3D movement throughout the warehouse. They feature full-stack perception (11 cameras, high-resolution gyroscope, and wireless communication) for safe and reliable navigation.
- Modular Matrix Storage Structure: A simple, repeating steel lattice that can be built to any shape, size, width, length, or height (up to 80 ft). It eliminates fixed aisles and inventory slots, providing infinite flexibility and up to 2x higher storage density compared to traditional racking.
- AI Software Platform: Uses machine learning for real-time route optimization, inventory management, dynamic parallelization (up to 150 presentations per hour), and continuous improvement. The software allows daily reorganization of operations and provides 99.999% system uptime through infinite bot and pathway redundancy.
Mytra’s system supports key warehouse applications including pallet pick, case pick, dock buffering, and cross-docking. It enables forklift, pallet jack, human, and robot operation around the perimeter and can incorporate tunnels for pass-through traffic. Customers benefit from massive efficiency gains (70% workforce improvement), high reliability, and the ability to scale incrementally. The company is rapidly commercializing its breakthrough 3D robotics technology to transform warehouse operations.
